Information Technology since 1978

MCS went computerised in 1978 with a very basic system which only captured the raw fundamental information. MCS was one of the first Australian container parks in the early 80's to realise that specialised computer software would be required to meet the new demands of their customers.

MCS then set about developing their own tailored in-house systems. Many things have changed since those early pioneering days but the basic fundamentals remain the same to-day.

Besides the operational programs the package of systems include the following business modules: -

  • Fully Integrated Transport, Rail and Container Park Management System
  • We support EDI transmissions in the following format:
    • CODECO
    • CEDEX
    • COPARN
    • BAPLIE
  • Client access to online container enquiries, container data and history information
  • Computer generated quotations linked to Maintenance and Repair Schedules
  • Customised reporting
  • Transport job scheduling and allocation
MCS is again investing in its operational IT System and has successfully implemented a new state of the art system operating at the beginning of 2008. Users are allow to access online information via website.
