Maritime Container Services is an independent and wholly Australian family owned business founded by Grahame Wright, who was recognised as a pioneer in the Intermodal and Logistics industry.

Grahame will always be remembered for his strong determination, and contribution to the industry as a whole.

Grahame is succeeded by his two sons David and James, supported by the Board of Directors and a strong and capable executive team.

The executive team is responsible for driving its people in providing the highest level of service to achieve customer satisfaction by offering reliable and cost effective solutions.

Grahame Wright
Grahame Wright - Founder

A third generation pioneer in the transport and logistics sector with more than 40 years' experience.
Founder of Maritime Container Services in 1973 and has a history that dates back to HG Pullen general carriers who have been in operation since the horse and cart days.
Grahame was an astute businessman, who provided valuable input in the daily management of the business. He was an industry advocate, always prepared to invest in the family business to provide clients with a reliable, cost effective transport and logistics solutions.
He embraced the principle that the success of the company lies with the high quality of people who share the same beliefs in customer service, safety and continuous improvement. He is succeeded by his sons David and James who continue to share the values and beliefs of their father.

David Wright - Director of Operations

The eldest son, and fourth generation family member, who is actively involved in the transport logistics sector and overall management of the family business.
Upon completion of his studies, David gained retail experience being employed in various niche market sectors focussing on customer service.
In 2006 he purchased and successfully managed his own private retail business, whilst at the same time he sat on the MCS board as a Director.
He entered the transport and logistics sector in 2012 employed with Sydney Ports Corporation. During this time he has expanded his knowledge gaining valuable insight in trade and logistics, predominantly in portside logistics.
In late 2012 David transferred his skills and knowledge to the family business focussing on road transport and operations.
He now holds the position of Director of Operations, managing the overall daily road operation, road fleet, general operations and overall strategic direction and growth of this business division of Maritime Container Services.

James McPherson Wright - Director Commercial Development

The youngest son, and fourth generation family member, who also is actively involved in the transport logistics sector and overall management of the family business.
University graduate with a BA in Human Resource who has since attained and has focussed his efforts in a Sales discipline.
Upon completing his studies, James was employed as a container control supervisor with a major shipping line which provided valuable, hands on experience and understanding of the supply chain.
He has then taken this knowledge and applied it to the family business managing a team of employees and resources at our MCS Banksmeadow site.
He was integral in the control, repositioning and staging of import and export containers, including empty containers between Port Botany and Banksmeadow.
James now manages the overall sales process and strategic direction of the family business, focussing on business development, customer management, and contract & rate negotiations in the position of Director Commercial Development.
